Zips Car Wash

I recently stopped by Zip’s Car Wash on Wards Road in Lynchburg, Virginia because it was conveniently located near several errands I was running. I normally use car washes in Forest, but I’ve always considered Zip’s one of the top options in Lynchburg since it was one of the first express car washes in the area. The actual wash itself was great, and the attendants were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience changed once I got to the vacuum area. The vacuums had very little suction and struggled to pick up even basic debris from my vehicle. I completed only the driver’s side before deciding to leave because it was taking far more time and effort than it should have. Most express car washes provide two vacuum attachments, but all of the narrow extension tools were out of order, making it even more difficult to clean hard-to-reach areas. I was really disappointed because what I expected to be a quick and convenient stop turned into a hassle. I ended up having to drive across town to another car wash and pay for an additional wash just so I could access vacuums that worked properly and finish cleaning my vehicle. The staff was excellent, and th

Came here for a quick wash an early Saturday morning.. Mr.Justin was the only one there at the time handling customers & starting washes.. He was very helpful & did it all with a smile.! You dont see great customer service like that often, it deserves to be recognized.!

Not worth the price. Needed a quick car wash, and my regular spot doesn’t have any locations out here. The pay stations don’t work. The agent came out AFTER I’d tried to use it twice, to tell me it doesn’t work, so he would need to ring me up…. Why is there not a sign on them, and why want he already there when I pulled up? Aside from washing the pollen off my car, their system didn’t do much else. Admittedly, I got the $18 basic wash. The same agent pretreating my vehicle only got the front, driver, and rear sides. The bird poo on my passenger window was still there after the wash was complete. The dryer didn’t dry my vehicle. The vacuums were weak. There were no trash receptacles for me to use as I was cleaning out my car. I should have known something wasn’t right when, on a Saturday morning, I was the ONLY customer the entire time I was there…. I passed by about an hour later, and still no customers.

Stopped by Zips Car Wash and McKenzie made the whole experience way better than expected. She greeted me with a great attitude, kept things quick and easy, and actually made the interaction feel genuine instead of scripted. She explained everything clearly without being pushy, and honestly she’s the reason I ended up signing up for a membership. She made it feel worth it, not like I was being sold something. It’s the little things like that that stand out, and she definitely gets customer service. McKenzie is awesome.

Avoid this place!!! The cons: This was my first visit to Zips, I got the $24 pro wash, and my car still came out really dirty. I've only been to an automatic car wash two other times (ModWash and Sheetz) and they were both much better with getting my car clean at a cheaper price (Sheetz was half the cost of Zips). The car overall was not cleaned well but some of the most uncleaned parts were the windshield, front end especially around the grill and headlights, lower side panels, wheels, the rear end, and the top part of the trunk which is flat. The parts that were best cleaned (but still dirty) were the hood, roof, windows, and upper side panels. I'm attaching a few photos for reference. Going in my car was of course dirty which is why I took it to get it washed, but it was not overly dirty or filthy. I was considering getting a subscription to Zips, but not now. I did submit a ticket so I'll see how they respond and then I will update my review. The pros: The two attendants before going through were nice and helpful, the place looked well taken care of and clean, and the vacuums were excellent. I'm still giving only 1 star because the entire point of me going to Zips is to get
